Here’s a closer look at HTC’s rumored Desire Eye selfie-themed smartphone

Last week, we got a glimpse at an unannounced HTC handset referred to as the Desire Eye. Today, we’re taking a closer look at alleged renders for HTC’s selfie-themed smartphone, courtesy of Russian language blog HTCFamily. With rumors of a new Nexus tablet, smartwatch and mobile camera accessory, HTC appears to have a lot on its plate.

The company is set to have a media event in New York on October 8th and recently teased a possible revision for its popular M8 smartphone. While we’re not exactly sure if the Desire Eye will be unveiled during this week’s press briefing, it’s definitely another device to add to HTC’s growing roster of up-and-coming gadgets.

As for the phone itself, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer’s shutterbug-friendly phone will reportedly feature a pair of 13-megapixel cameras (front and back), a 5.2-inch HD display, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a removable 2,400mAh battery.
