Sony bringing Android 5.0 to its entire Xperia Z series lineup

Just like Motorola, NVIDIA and HTC, Sony is hopping on the Android 5.0 bandwagon. In a blog post today, the company pledged to bring Lollipop to all of its “premium Z series” devices.

This includes the following smartphones and tablets:

Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Unsurprisingly, Sony’s Google Play edition Z Ultra will be the company’s first smartphone to make the move to Android 5.0. The outfit says that it will start working on other devices in 2015.
