Google Play merchant accounts now available to developers in Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Qatar and Venezuela

Google has extended the availability of Google Play merchant account ownership to seven new territories, including Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Qatar and Venezuela. App developers in these markets can now register to accept cash payments for their software through the Play Store.

While devs in these regions were already eligible to register free Android apps in Google Play, they’re now able to offer paid applications and generate revenue directly from the search company’s primary outlet. If you’re a software developer residing in one of these recently added territories and you’re looking to start publishing apps in Google Play, be sure to check out the company’s developer agreement for an idea of what to expect.
