Four months ago, the team behind the BLOCKS smartwatch — a device not all too different from Google’s Project Ara smartphone in principle — said that it would begin crowdfunding in the “summer”. While the company may have missed that deadline by a few weeks, it looks like it’s going to happen nonetheless. The device is set to finally hit Kickstarter on October 13th…
We’ve been talking about the BLOCKS smartwatch for quite a while now. After showing off a prototype at CES at the beginning of the year, the company mentioned that Google had thrown out the idea of the company potentially working on cross-compatibility with Ara. The company then released more details about the device — then in the prototyping stages — just four months ago.
And now it appears that the modular smartwatch’s time has come. You can read more about the device’s dozens of interchangable modules (which the company hopes will grow to thousands), as well as details about the user interface and other features over at the company’s site. And be sure to check out the below teaser video as we wait for the Kickstarter campaign to kick off next week.
