AT&T’s LG G4 begins receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow

A lot more users are finally going to see the benefits of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With T-Mobile LG G4s getting the update last week, it is now time for AT&T variants of the device to see the latest version of Android.

The update began rolling out yesterday to the H810 version of the LG G4 via an OTA update. The update comes in at 971MB and it is advised that the update be downloaded over Wi-Fi. There doesn’t appear to be an option to download and update your device via the LG Bridge application. As a precaution, AT&T recommends backing up your microSD card before updating your device.

In addition to updating the device to Marshmallow, the update also brings AT&T video calling and advanced messaging. The update should bring the LG G4 to software version H81020n. With Marshmallow only being on 1.2% of Android devices, last year’s flagship devices getting the latest version of Android should definitely help with adoption.

Updates for Verizon and Sprint LG devices should be on their way as well. An earlier rumor pegged the Galaxy S6 getting Android 6.0 as soon as this month.
