Samsung releases February security patch for major flagship models

While February is nearly over, Samsung has just released this month’s security patch for their major flagship models. The update contains fixes from Google, as well as another seven discovered by Samsung.

Google released the security patch to their Nexus devices on the first of the month, but Samsung’s delay is understandable due to the numerous device variants they have around the world. Samsung’s patch includes those 10 security fixes and seven vulnerabilities found by Samsung that range from low to critical. This month’s update fixes a vulnerability involving Qualcomm Wi-Fi drivers and ones involving memory corruption. Other vulnerabilities have yet to be disclosed for security reasons.

Samsung usually releases their security patches for unspecified “major flagship models” towards the latter end of the month. Yesterday, Motorola released a security patch for their latest generation Moto X and might finally be joining in on the monthly update cycle.
