HTC 10 real life images emerge, seemingly show a close-to-finalized device

Further images of the HTC 10 have emerged online with perhaps the best detail we’ve seen so far. They come just a few days after the first prototype images crept up online, and further corroborate rumors of a One A9-like front panel and solid metal unibody chassis.

In terms of its design, the new leaks show very little we didn’t know already, but the images are by far the best quality we’ve seen to date. The photos themselves were originally posted in the comments by HDblog Community member, Angt29 (via @tanalibera).

With Samsung, LG and Sony all having shown their hands already, and Huawei just about to, HTC is one of the few remaining big-name smartphone makers yet to announce a new flagship device this year.

With HTC’s financial performance hitting its lowest point in almost 10 years, it’s safe to say that a lot is riding on the success of its next flagship smartphone. In fact, rumors indicate that HTC views its next phone as a step away from its less-than-successful tradition, and will ditch the ‘One M’-series branding despite the obvious similarities in design. The purpose? Perhaps a refreshed focus, and to remove it from the rest of the ‘One’ device ranges, giving it its own pedastal, to stand apart from the other HTC phones.

Spec-wise, it’s claimed the HTC 10 will at least compete with the current high-end flagships, even if it doesn’t quite match their sales. It’s rumored to feature a 5.15-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 12MP camera (similar to Nexus 6P and Galaxy S7) along with a dual-LED flash, laser autofocus and home-button with incorporated fingerprint sensor.

HTC is yet to confirm when it is going to release the new phone, but we’re expecting an announcement at some point in the next 2 months.
