HTC 10

See All Stories

The HTC 10 is equipped with a 5.2-inch Quad HD SuperLCD5 display with a pixel density of 546ppi, and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM. Its 32GB internal storage is expandable via Micro SD card all the way up to 200GB. HTC claims the built-in non-removable 3,000mAh cell can handle up to two days of use before needing to be recharged. When it does eventually deplete, you’ll be able to charge it back up again really quickly thanks to USB Type-C and Quick-Charge 3.0 support.

HTC U11

Pre-order the 6GB/128GB HTC U11 tonight at 12am ET for $729

The HTC U11 was released back in May with many praising it for its Pixel-level performance and its highly reflective glass backing. The only issue with it, for those who prefer copious amounts of storage, is that the handset only came with 64GB of built-in memory. Although there is a microSD card slot available to expand this, HTC will soon offer a 128GB U11 with 6GB of RAM for just $80 more than the base model…

You could win a free HTC device in one of the company’s forthcoming weekly giveaways

htc-fff

HTC may have had a rough couple of years, but that doesn’t mean that its products have all been bad. Its latest HTC 10, in fact, is a pretty solid smartphone — and they do deserve some credit for giving Google‘s own Pixel a much-appreciated sturdiness after all.

If you hate the Taiwanese company for some reason, I honestly don’t know why you are here. But if you fancy some of its gear, you may be in luck…

T-Mobile stopped offering the HTC 10 just two months after release

HTC 10 Rear 2

After two years of average flagships, HTC finally delivered for 2016 with the HTC 10. We praised the device in our review, as did most publications and buyers, but that hasn’t quite done the trick. HTC has apparently had a bit of trouble selling the 10 as shown by T-Mobile. Just two months after the device went on sale, T-Mobile had already dropped the device from its smartphone offerings.

The best Android phones you can buy [July 2016]

oneplus-3-hands-ondfa

It’s already July, and with an ever-increasing number of notable Android OEMs reaching maturity, we’ve seen more new handsets than usual launch this summer. We had the Huawei Mate 8 and Honor 5X at CES in January, followed later by Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge and others around the time of Mobile World Congress, and last month saw the new OnePlus 3 and Moto Z. But which ones are the best buys?…

Site default logo image

HTC 10 Rear 2

According to a report by TrendForce analyst Avril Wu, the total production volume of HTC’s flagship HTC 10 will hover around 1 million units, with an overall yearly production volume of just 13 million units. That figure is significantly less than last year’s yearly production mark of 18 million units, even with the assistance of an upcoming Google Nexus branded HTC smartphone for the second half of 2016.

You can win a free HTC 10 just by sending HTC your selfie

HTC 10 Kitchen Shot

The new HTC 10 is definitely one of the better releases in the company’s history. However at $699 and up retail price, not everyone can clear the space in their budget to get the sharp-bezeled unibody wonderphone. To that end, HTC is currently giving a few users the chance to win a free unit and the rules are simple. Snap a selfie (it probably won’t hurt if you use one of HTC’s previous models like the A10 below), send it over, you’re entered to win a free HTC 10…

Hands-on: Thin Fit and Crystal Shell HTC 10 cases from Spigen [Video]

Site default logo image

Crystal Shell Spigen

Last week, Spigen sent over a few cases for the recently released HTC 10. That was great news for me, as I’ve been extremely hesitant to use the device as my daily driver without some sort of protection.

If the HTC 10 wasn’t so pretty and well designed it wouldn’t matter, but it’s a beautiful smartphone that I wish to keep in tip-top shape. As such, I was more than happy to take Spigen’s offerings for a test drive. Take a look at our hands-on video to see the cases in action.

As the release date for Android Nougat approaches (man, it’s going to take a while to get used to not calling it Android N), it’s now on the shoulders of Google’s OEM partners to bring the update to all of our favorite devices. Now, Taiwanese company HTC has announced that Android Nougat is coming to three of its most recent devices, the HTC 10, HTC One A9, and the HTC One M9…

Sony’s Xperia XA Ultra is now official with a monster 6-inch display and a 16MP selfie shooter

Xperia XA Ultra

Sony‘s moves in the mobile space continue to be somewhat confusing, as the company’s dedicated division continues to underperform, but that is not stopping the Japanese firm cranking out new and increasingly weird smartphones.

Today is the turn of the XA Ultra — which we had previously seen rumored as C6 Ultra — which packs fairly unique specs, namely its 16MP front facing camera and a monster 6-inch panel…

HTC Q1 2016 earnings reveal 64% drop in revenue

htc

HTC has published its financial results for Q1 2016 and things continue to look bleak for the once-giant of the smartphone world. The company made a loss of NT $4.8 billion ($148 million) on revenues of NT $14.8 billion ($455 million). Despite that, the company is predicting a strong 2016, thanks to the recent launch of its flagship smartphone and the market-leading Vive VR headset.

HTC reportedly sold only 251 HTC 10 units in China so far, plans to spin off its VR division

htc-10

And it seems as if HTC’s downward spiral continues. The latest in its seemingly never-ending doomsday news cycle comes today in the form of a pair of reports from Focus Taiwan, with the former suggesting that the lower-specced HTC 10 has been an absolute flop in China and the latter saying that the company has formed a completely separate company for its VR ambitions

Qualcomm (vaguely) responds to reports of Quick-Charge 3.0 being Type-C non-compliant

quickcharge30

Earlier this week we brought you news that Google engineer, Benson Leung suggested quite strongly that the LG G5 and HTC 10 (and any other device using Quick-Charge technology and a Type-C connector) was technically not compliant with USB Type-C specification. Because of the way Quick-Charge 2.0 and 3.0 delivers the charge, it restricts some of USB Type-C’s functions by taking up the data lines.

While we’re yet to hear any kind of response from LG or HTC, Qualcomm has (sort of) answered the criticism by half suggesting it’s up to manufacturers to choose how they implement the technology, and that there have been no complaints so far from customers.

Google engineer: LG G5 and HTC 10 are not USB Type C compliant

htc-10
You may remember the name Benson Leung from when the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X launched at the end of 2015. At the time, he set out to review as many Type C chargers and adapters available on Amazon to separate the true Type C compliant accessories from the non-compliant, helping buyers avoid purchasing products that might damage their new Nexus phone (or Pixel C).

Following his most recent review (via AP), the Google engineer has pointed to a previous Type C spec explainer to suggest that both the HTC 10 and LG G5 are out of spec.
