Google continues to double down on its enterprise offerings with more than two million businesses around the world paying for the Apps suite of products. To encourage users to make the most out of Gmail, Drive, and Calendar, Google is acquiring cloud-based training software company Synergyse.

Founded in 2013 by ex-Googlers, Synergyse helps users keep up with the various updates that Google rolls out to their services on a nearly weekly basis. Leveraging the Google Cloud Platform, Synergyse training courses are always up-to-do date and are easily accessible via a Chrome extension.

Synergyse uses interactive text and voice modules that are searchable via topic directly within Apps. The courses make heavy use of arrows highlighting UI elements and are always accessible thanks to a menu in Google Apps. Organizations that use the service report on average 35% higher adoption of Apps products and features.

Google intends to make Synergyse “an integral part of the Google Apps offering later this year.” In the meantime, the training courses will continue to work for existing customers, while new customers will able to download the Chrome extension for free.

With the hiring of VMWare co-founder Diane Greene to lead a combined cloud business, Google is making big inroads into the enterprise space. The company has previously stated that within five years they want their cloud business to be more profitable than their current ads juggernaut.
