The OnePlus 3‘s official announcement is just around the corner. Less than a week from now, the Chinese company will fully unveil its new flagship device, but leaks seem keep pouring out in the meantime.
A Weibo post lets us take an even closer look at the device…
The images posted look like official renders, with the phone pictured in virtually every angle and with a fairly good amount of detail. Writing is in Chinese, but we can nonetheless admire the 3 in all of its aluminum glory.
Sure enough, if there is one take away from these images, is that OnePlus‘ new high-end smartphone will indeed move to an all-metal unibody shell.
Save for the usual antenna cutouts — fairly similar to the HTC Ones of years past — the device seems to have a fairly elegant (if a bit uninspired) design, letting us wonder whether the company is ditching its famous Sandstone material for good or perhaps leaving it as an option on cheaper models.
Speaking of cheaper models, yet-unconfirmed rumors suggest that the 3 will come in different variants, which will differ in storage (with 32, 64 and possibly even 128GB options) and RAM size, at 4 and 6GB respectively.
Other specs mention a 5.5″ AMOLED Full HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, the presence of USB-C (which you can see from these images as well), a 16MP camera and more.
As far as purchasing options go, you will be able to buy the 3 — without an invite — as soon as OnePlus’ VR launch in The Loop will be over; were you to be lucky enough to live in one of the company’s selected cities, instead, you will be able to go directly to one of the pop-up stores being set up to exclusively get your hands on the 3 – with the option to buy it on the spot.
