HTC has just sent over an invitation to an online event set for September 20th, with the headline “#BeEdgier”. The company also sent out a tweet showing a round camera lens on the back of an unknown phone with the number “150”. That’s just about all the official information we have so far…
Although it’s not clear how it’s “edgier,” our best guess would be that HTC is prepping to announce its latest in the Desire line of phones, the HTC Desire 10. We first saw this device’s camera leak courtesy of Evan Blass a couple of months ago, followed by a more detailed report from him about the device just last month.
There’s apparently two versions of the phone, one known as the “Desire 10 Pro” and the latter being the “Desire 10 Lifestyle”. While details about the “Pro” are still nada, Blass has shared some details on the Lifestyle. IT purportedly sports a 5.5-inch display (720 x 1280 resolution), surrounded by a body with “a metallic gold trim on the edges and around key hardware elements.” Perhaps that’s what HTC means by “BeEdgier”.
The “Lifestyle” phone will apparently have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon, and either 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage or 2GB w/ 16GB storage. There will also be a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing camera on the device, both of which are reportedly capable of doing 1080p video recording. As is often the case with HTC phones, the Desire 10 handsets don’t skimp on audio — both packing BoomSound as usual.
We’ll probably see these phones leak completely before they’re announced officially, so stay tuned for more.
