When the Pixel and Pixel XL first became available for pre-order, Google let U.S. customers know that they would also be eligible for a Daydream View VR headset free of charge. Now that most of those Pixel pre-orders have made their ways to customers, Google has started sending out promo codes to those customers.
In the last few minutes, we’ve received several reports from readers as well as independent confirmation from our own Ben Schoon that these promotional codes are being emailed to those who pre-ordered a Pixel. Once you receive your Daydream View promotional code (check your Gmail “updates” tab if you don’t see it right away), follow the below steps to order your headset for free:
- Click on the redeem now button found at the bottom of the email. This will take you to the Google Store
- Add the Daydream View to your cart
- Check out. The promotional code should have been automatically applied to your order but if not, copy and paste the code found in your email.
If you aren’t one of the lucky ones who were able to get the Daydream View for free, you can also purchase the VR headset in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia for the equivalent of $79 U.S. dollars in the Google Store and from some other retailers.
