CES is right around the corner, as little less than a month separates us from the event. And, VentureBeat reports, LG is apparently ready to show off its arsenal, with no less than six new phones being prepped for the official unveil…
While there’s no mention of a G5 successor — which would be unexpected this early anyways — the Korean firm is seemingly going to target the midrange with some additions to their “K” and “X” lineups, as well as a new Stylus phone.
The K line is being juiced up substantially, with new entries like the K3, K4, K8 and K10. The former three have 4.5″, 4.7″ and 5.0″ HD displays, 5/2MP, 8/5M and 13/5MP cameras and 2100, 2500 and 2500mAh batteries respectively. The beefier K10 has a 5.3″ HD display, a 5MP “wide angle” selfie camera, a fingerprint reader and rear-mounted buttons.
The X series gets the new X Power 2, with a larger 5.5-inch HD panel, a massive 4500mAh battery, and a 13/5MP camera combo, with the front shooter tipped again to be a wide-angle lens. This phone, however, will actually debut at February’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, as per VentureBeat’s report.
In addition to that, there’s also the CES-bound LG X Calibur, which seems targeted at people who need a little more ruggedness from their phone: it has IP68 certification, a 4100mAh battery, and is said to have “military-standard durability”.
The Stylus line adds the LG Stylus 3 to its portfolio (which will be known as Stylo 3 Plus in the US): 5.7″ screen, 32GB of internal memory, support for the digital pen, 13 and 5MP cameras (both equipped with flashes), 3200mAh unit and a fingerprint reader nested in the rear-positioned buttons.
We expect LG to brief the devices before the event actually starts, however, with the original report mentioning next week as the starting point. The K-branded devices should start shipping mid-January; the Stylus 3 will follow a month later, then the X Calibur in mid-March and finally the X Power 2 at the end of April.
