The slow crawl of Android phones getting updated to the latest version of Android continues, this time with the HTC One A9. Mo Versi, the HTC VP of Product Management, says on Twitter that the unlocked version of that phone will be getting Android Nougat via OTA starting tonight.
How long it takes Android OEMs to push out updates is laughable already, but this is particularly hilarious since HTC touted with the launch of the A9 that it was aiming to get updates for the A9 out within 15 days of them landing on the Nexus phones.
When did Android 7.0 Nougat land on the Nexus phones for the first time? August 22nd, 2016. It has been almost 150 days since Android Nougat came to the Nexus phones.
But I guess us HTC One A9 owners can’t really complain anymore since the phone is finally getting the update today. For those out of the loop, Android 7.0 Nougat is a pretty substantial update to Google’s mobile OS, packing features like multi-window support, a completely redesigned notification interface, many underlying performance optimizations, and more.

In other HTC news, the Taiwanese company recently announced its new 5.7-inch U Ultra packing a new glass design and a LG V20-like 2nd display for quick access to a variety of features.
