Last year, Google introduced an updated 3D robot mascot for Android and you can now “Create your own Android Bot” with a new tool that harkens back to the old days of Androidify.
Located on the Android.com homepage, you can select one of 25 Materials for the pill-shaped mascot, which Google at CES 2024 named “The Bot.” Besides different colors, there are translucent versions, sports designs (soccer/football and tennis), camouflage, and much more.
Your Clothing options include 20 outfits, including an astronaut, Minion-esque suspenders, and various shirts.
On the Accessory front, you get another 20 options including glasses and hats, though you’re unable to select both at the same time.
Finally, you have 20 props, including a wearable that is clearly the Pixel Watch, phone, camera, and game controller. Other options include sporting equipment and even food. Again, you can only select one.
After you’re done creating, you can download it and get a “QR code for your Android Bot.”
According to the site description, Google released this tool for Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week. This follows Google internally creating custom Bots for Sundar Pichai and Dave Burke last year.
The original Androidify tool was released in 2011 and even had its own Android app. Google pulled that experience back in 2020.
