Samsung Galaxy Book 4 launches in US and globally February 26, pre-orders open

The Galaxy Book 4 series is the latest PC offering from Samsung, and it’s available for pre-order in select regions. It sports Intel’s newest AI-driven processor and combines it with a build that Galaxy users will likely love.

Intel’s new Core Ultra chips have taken a large portion of the Windows laptop market by storm. The processor is built to offer a more efficient and smoother experience that utilizes machine learning on a level that Intel hasn’t touched in the past.

Stick that inside a Galaxy Book and bring the hardware that Samsung equips it with, and you’ve got a rather enticing Windows laptop. The Galaxy Book 4 was first announced at the end of last year, and has since been made available in Korea.

Now, Samsung is bringing the Galaxy Book 4 series to users on a global scale, with availability starting on February 26. Currently, the Galaxy Book 4 series looks to be available for pre-order in regions like Canada prior to that date. It’s possible that the US sees pre-order availability in a short amount of time.

The series comprises three separate models – the Galaxy Book 4 Pro, Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, and Galaxy Book 4 Ultra. The Ultra runs an RTX 2070 GPU and will undoubtedly be the most expensive.

Each model has a touch screen and packs a 2880 x 1800 120Hz AMOLED display. On the side is a set of Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 USB Type-A port, and 1 HDMI 2.1 output. The Book 4 also houses a Micro SD card slot.

As with Galaxy Books in the past, Samsung packs the notebooks with features specifically tailored to Galaxy users. That means those with Galaxy phones and tablets will benefit more from this laptop than those with a Pixel or iPhone, simply because the company prioritizes ecosystem experience. That isn’t a bad thing but can be seen as a limiting factor for some who want to give the Galaxy Book series a go.

Those features will be things like Second Screen, which allows you to use your tablet as a monitor, and Multi Control to move files between devices. Those will be limited to Galaxy users, but the experience isn’t ruined if you can’t use them.

Samsung has made the Galaxy Book 4 series available to pre-order before full launch, which, again, is on February 26. The Galaxy Book 4 base model will come in at 1,099 CAD, while the Pro and Ultra variants will be 2,399 CAD and 2,999 CAD, respectively. Upgrades will add cost to that foundational price. These prices are taken from the Canadian Samsung site, so they’re likely not identical in the US and other areas.

It looks as though Samsung will also be offering a trade-in offer to sweeten the deal a little bit, as well.
