YouTube Music is making two quality of life improvements to podcasts with more sort filters and the ever popular radio (music tuner).
As we wait for bigger updates (once again mark as played and new episode notifications), the show page is adding more sort options. Today, you have “Sort by”: Newest to oldest, Oldest to newest, Most popular, and Default.
That will soon be joined by In Progress, Unplayed, and Played to let you hide things as you browse. It takes the form of chips above the episode list. The additional podcast sort filters are not rolled out on devices we checked today, and looks to apply to both shows uploaded to YouTube and podcasts manually added to YouTube Music via RSS.
Meanwhile, YouTube Music is improving the radio creator with the ability to search for artists. The new field at the top of the artists grid means you don’t have to resort to endless scrolling. As a reminder, you can now access it from the FAB in the Library tab instead of having to scroll through the Home feed for the card.
Both of these features are not yet widely rolled out today and make for nice improvements, though they really should have been introduced sooner.
