What was the best Android phone of 2024? [Poll]

2024 has been a solid year once again for Android phones. Taking stock of what has been released, you’d be hard-pressed to buy or pick an objectively “bad” device. That said, what was your pick for the “best Android phone of 2024”? Have your say here.

We’re under no illusions that most of you reading this will have a heavy bias towards the Google Pixel 9 series. Given that 9to5Google‘s remit is to cover the brand in all its minutiae, it would be a shock if one of the latest Made by Google cohort didn’t best all comers in this public vote. The consensus this year is that Google has nailed the fundamentals and made yet another solid phone – but with even higher hopes and expectations for the Pixel 10.

While this shouldn’t color your opinion, having tested lots of phones over the past 12 months, my objective picks for the best Android phone 2024 would be the OnePlus 12 and Honor Magic V3. The latter is devilishly thin and has one of the most competent camera systems I have ever used on a foldable device. Still, it does have a woeful update promise and poor availability in all global regions. As for the OnePlus 12, I feel that it offers the best bang for your buck. Period. It also excites me what the OnePlus 13 might bring to the table in early 2025 when the global model is expected to launch.

However, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold would be a strong third place on my personal best Android list for 2024. I have loved every second of using the foldable since it launched in late September, and it has become one of the devices I (regularly) switch my main SIM in and out of purposefully.

We’re being a little strict with this shortlist. Some of the best phones of 2024 were released toward the end of 2023, but these are omitted to help cut down the list of potential candidates. In an ideal world, we’d have the full gamut of releases, but alas, we’ve kept it to devices we’ve tested. This ensures that only phones that were announced and hit the market over the past 12 months are eligible to be considered your “best Android phone of 2024.” It does mean a few big hitters are missing, but you still have 24 devices to choose from in our whittled-down shortlist:
