The Samsung Galaxy Ring is getting a couple of larger sizes in the near future, as rumors and, now, some listings have confirmed that’s the case.
The Galaxy Ring launched earlier this year with several different sizes, but many were quick to notice that larger sizes were the most popular. And for some, the largest sizes weren’t large enough. Samsung is now preparing two more additions to the lineup, sizes 14 and 15. These would join existing 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 size options.
Rumors around these additions have been floating around since September, but they’re becoming a lot more concrete.
User manuals recently revealed the SM-Q514 and SM-Q515 model numbers, and now there’s further proof. Listings for those same two model numbers appeared on the WPC’s database of Qi-compliant devices, with listings for both SM-Q514 and SM-Q515 appearing on December 20.
Both are using the version 2.0.0 of the Qi standard (without “Qi2” branding, since there are no magnets), but the listing doesn’t reveal much more information.
Galaxy Ring was released widely on July 24 this year, less than two weeks after listings for the original batch of sizes hit the WPC. So, this is certainly a hint that these added sizes could be coming very soon.
