Google preps Gemini-powered ‘proactive feed’ called ‘Your Day’

The dream of Google Now and Assistant Snapshot (pictured above) might be returning as Google works on Gemini “Your Day.”

About APK Insight: In this “APK Insight” post, we’ve decompiled the latest version of an application that Google uploaded to the Play Store. When we decompile these files (called APKs, in the case of Android apps), we’re able to see various lines of code within that hint at possible future features. Keep in mind that Google may or may not ever ship these features, and our interpretation of what they are may be imperfect. We’ll try to enable those that are closer to being finished, however, to show you how they’ll look in case that they do ship. With that in mind, read on.

Beta version 17.14 of the Google app reveals strings for “Your Day.” It lets you “Receive a proactive feed from Gemini to stay ahead of your day.”

  • <string name=”assistant_robin_personal_context_card_4_title”>Your Day</string>
  • <string name=”assistant_robin_personal_context_card_4_body_text”>Receive a proactive feed from Gemini to stay ahead of your day</string>
  • <string name=”assistant_robin_personal_context_card_4_icon_description”>The icon for the Your Day card</string>

The strings describe a new settings card to enable the feature when you go to profile menu > Personal Intelligence. It will appear alongside Memory (previously Past Chats), Connected Apps, and Instructions for Gemini.

From what we enabled today, it looks like the “Your Day” feed can be launched from the navigation drawer.

It’s unclear what the interface for Your Day will be, but a series of cards detailing upcoming events and relevant reminders seems likely. Like Personal Intelligence, this should be sourced from your various Google apps. Gmail’s AI Inbox would be the closest example Google has today.

Hopefully, the cards will also appear on the Gemini app’s homepage given its prime placement.
