Adobe Premiere is coming to Android ‘soon,’ Google says

Adobe’s Premiere app is finally heading to Android, with Google providing a slightly more specific timeline compared to what Adobe previously left us with.

The widely used video editing app Adobe Premiere was announced for iPhone last year, with a later update bringing support for some custom YouTube Shorts integration. When it debuted, it was iOS-only, and it remains that way today.

Adobe only said that Premiere for Android was “in development” last year, without anything else to add.

Google now says that Adobe Premiere for Android is coming “soon” alongside the announcement of native tools in Android 17 aimed at content creation.

Google says:

The Adobe Premiere app is coming to Android soon. With Premiere, you’ll get access to exclusive templates and effects to create and post YouTube Shorts from the app, helping you stand out in the feed.

An earlier copy of this provided to the press said it was coming “this Summer,” but Google changed it for the public post. In either case, it sounds like Premiere’s debut could be right around the corner. Given that Premiere Rush was discontinued, that’s great news. On iOS, Adobe Premiere has a 4.8 star rating and is advertised as an “AI video editor.”
