Verizon says these Pixel Watch models are about to get Wear OS 7

Google announced Wear OS 7 less than a month ago and, apparently, it’s already ready to roll out, as Verizon has let it slip that three Pixel Watch models are about to get the latest update.

Wear OS 7 is by no means a “major” update to Google’s smartwatch platform, but it’s not particularly small either. As announced in May, the update will feature Live Updates, support for widgets (in a rework of Tiles), an update to the media player, a new workout tracking experience for third-party apps, and more.

Google said the update would be available “later this year,” so it’s pretty surprising that, apparently, it’s going to land any day now.

Verizon today posted changelogs (via Droid-Life) for Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4, all for Wear OS 7 updates and carrying the following version numbers:

  • Pixel Watch 2: CP2A.260603.001
  • Pixel Watch 3: CP2A.260603.001
  • Pixel Watch 4: CP2A.260603.001

There’s no such update listed for the original Pixel Watch, implying the 2022 release might not get this update. Google only promised updates through October 2025.

The changelog is not very in-depth, only saying that Pixel Watches will be getting Wear OS 7, the June 2026 security patch, and “performance and stability improvements.” But that’s not exactly out of line – Verizon’s smartwatch update changelogs are pretty bare bones.

  • The latest Wear OS 7 update.
  • The most up to date Android Security Patch.
  • Performance and stability improvements.

All three updates are listed as being released today, but there’s no sign of that on Google’s side – and we probably would have already seen something about that if the release were actually starting today. So while we don’t know for certain when the update is dropping, it’s likely just around the corner.
