Galaxy Z Fold 8 prices leak – the all-new ‘Wide’ is cheaper than the unchanged ‘Ultra’

Peak ironic comedy. That’s how I’d describe leaked prices for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, as Samsung’s all-new “Wide” device is going to be cheaper than the “Ultra,” which is getting a price hike for no obvious reason.

According to a report from WinFuture, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series will start at the same €1,999 as its predecessor, but that’s for the all-new wide form factor, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 “UItra” – you know, the one that’s barely been changed – will see a €100 price hike to €2,199.

What are we doing?

Galaxy Z Flip 8 is apparently also getting a price hike to a€1,299 starting price, up €100.

Here’s how the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series pricing breaks down, at least in Germany, according to the report.

  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 256GB – €1999.00
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 512GB – €2199.00
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 1TB – €2599.00
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra 256 GB – €2199.00 (+100 euros)
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra 512 GB – €2399.00 (+180 euros)
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra 1TB – €2799.00 (+280 euros)

You can’t help but laugh.

To reiterate, the “Galaxy Z Fold 8” here is the new wider form factor Samsung has started officially teasing, something that’s brand new to the lineup. And it’s the same price as last year (following the early 2026 price hike). Meanwhile, the “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra” is effectively unchanged from the Fold 7, and it’s getting a lot more expensive.

We called this out as a possibility in a recent newsletter.

Looking at the bigger picture there are some partial explanations here. The “Ultra” does physically have more hardware, with a third camera that the wider model completely lacks, as well as a bigger battery. But it’s still a hard pill to swallow given the wider device is, again, completely new to Samsung’s lineup where the “Ultra” is essentially a tiny refresh to last year’s model.

But then again, what isn’t getting price hikes now? On that note, the report also pins down Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 pricing, which are going up by around 10%.

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 256 GB – €1299.00 (+100 euros)
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 512 GB – €1499.00 (+180 euros)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch9 40 mm BT – €409.00 (+40 euros)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch9 40 mm LTE – €459.00 (+50 euros)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch9 44 mm BT – €439.00 (+30 euros)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch9 44 mm LTE – €489.00 (+30 euros)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 LTE – €749.00 (+50 euros)

What do you think fo these alleged prices?
