Samsung confirms July 22 event for Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Watch 9, teases $1,200 off [Video]

Samsung has officially announced a July 22 Unpacked event where the company will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, Watch 9, and more, with reservations now open.

After weeks of rumors and leaks, Samsung has officially confirmed a July 22 event where the company will be fully revealing its new Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its new wide form factor as teased in the announcement video below.

The event is expected to see the launch of:

  • Galaxy Z Fold 8
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip 8
  • Galaxy Watch 9
  • Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

There may also be a new pair of Galaxy Buds and a teaser for the company’s Galaxy Glasses being built with Google.

Samsung explains that Unpacked will introduce the “latest Galaxy innovations that build on its leadership in foldables, combining intelligent capabilities and new form factors to deliver more personal, adaptive experiences and set a new standard for the AI era.”

The event will take place in London, returning to Europe where Samsung last unveiled Galaxy Z Fold 6 in Paris in 2024, with Fold 5 launched from Samsung’s home country of South Korea. Last year’s Fold 7 launch was in New York City.

The event will be livestreamed via YouTube and other platforms starting at 9am ET/6am PT/2pm BST on July 22.

Reservations are open now on Samsung.com.

Samsung teases that, alongside a $30 reservation credit, offers will cut up to $1,200 off of the price of its new devices. That’s likely only for the top-end Fold 8 Ultra, which is rumored to be more expensive than Fold 7, and refers to trade-in credits. The actual $30 credit can only be used towards accessories, like cases or Galaxy Buds. Those who place a reservation (which is free and carries no obligation) will be entered to win one of 10 Samsung.com gift cards worth $500.
