Who will you switch to now OnePlus effectively dead? [Poll]

OnePlus has been on the ropes for a while, but with reports indicating the company is preparing a total withdrawal from the US and Europe, the end of an era is officially here. If you’re a long-time fan, it’s time to start planning your OnePlus switch.

The sad downfall of a smartphone company is something to behold.

Every new OnePlus phone brought excitement as the company really did try to cater to the true-blue Android nerd. Incredible specifications, strong pricing, and just great value packages. The days of “Never Settle” are well and truly behind us. All signs point to OnePlus leaving the US, Europe, and many other global markets this week, if you are looking to switch, you should really start thinking about it.

Getting hold of phones outside of China is probably going to be tough to recommend in the not-too-distant future. While a company changing its business strategy is understandable, the way OnePlus has handled this transition has been nothing short of maddening. The sheer lack of communication is the most frustrating element of this entire saga.

It’s worth noting that some existing OnePlus devices are still slated to get updates for the foreseeable future. As part of Oppo and because the company uses ColorOS as the basis for OxygenOS, in theory, support shouldn’t be an issue. However, it’s not clear just how the company will handle any potential software updates, nor how consistent they will be.

I personally think that is a great shame, as the last few OxygenOS updates haven’t been bad at all – save some of the annoying Liquid Glass cloning that everyone outside of Google seems intent on doing.

If you are ready to pull the trigger on a OnePlus switch, the landscape looks very different from what it did a few years ago. Whether you’re planning an exit soon or going to hold on, use the poll below to let us know what you’re doing:
