Google pushing November’s security update to Nexus devices, download factory images here

Earlier this year, Google promised that Nexus devices would begin receiving security updates on a monthly basis. The company has definitely followed through with this promise as of yet, pushing out a new factory image right around the beginning of the month for the last few months. Right on time, November’s security update is here, and you can find factory images below…

This month’s update includes fixes for bugs brought to light over the last couple of months by Google’s internal teams, Trend Micro, System Security Lab, and others. Those who have non-Nexus devices are pretty much out of luck (with the exception of the HTC One A9, maybe?), but if you have a Nexus device, the update is rolling out over-the-air over the next few days.

If you’re too impatient to grab this game-changing (not really) bug fixer, you can of course head over to Google’s factory images page and find the latest build for your respective device. To make things easier, here are the latest versions (as of the time of this writing) for the long list of currently-support devices (straight from Google’s servers):

• Nexus 5X
• Nexus 6
• Nexus Player
• Nexus 9 (LTE)
• Nexus 9 (Wi-Fi)
• Nexus 5
• Nexus 7 2013 (Wi-Fi)
• Nexus 7 2013 (Mobile)

If you need help flashing factory images, be sure to head over and read our guide. Following this guide will completely wipe your device if you go with the recommended procedure, so you might want to just wait for the OTA for this update to hit your device to save you some hassle. For some Nexus devices, it appears that OTAs have already landed. Head into the Settings app -> About phone -> System updates to check yours for yourself.
