Evan Blass has quite thoroughly leaked LG’s and Samsung’s next flagship devices. Today, he revealed what appears to be the first official looking renders of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge…
One of the notable differences when compared to last year’s S6 is the slight edge curves on the standard Galaxy S7, which is rumored to have a 5.2-inch screen. They are not as drastic as on the 5.5-inch S7 Edge, of course, but are noticeable nonetheless. The phones in the renders also appear to be darker in color.
Otherwise, the button and sensor placement on the front panel of the device appears to be exactly the same as the last generation devices and matches up with a previous renders from case makers. Another picture on VentureBeat shows the two models in a side view with the S7 appearing in a silver/white color, while the S7 Edge is in gold.
Spec-wise, we expect the S7 to have a hefty 4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. The processor will vary depending on region with North America getting a Snapdragon 820 and international variants using a Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor. The S7 will have a 3000mAh battery charged via USB Type-C, while the larger S7 Edge likely has a 3600mAh battery.
Tangentially, the date on both renders is February 21. That Sunday is press day at MWC where Samsung is expected to launch their phones with a release coming on March 11th.
