Housed in a mall, Google Store Oakbrook outside of Chicago opens on Friday as the company’s fifth retail location for Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit products.
In addition to being the inaugural Midwest location, this is also the first Google Store in an outdoor mall: 63 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, IL 60523. Oakbrook Center is about 25 minutes from downtown Chicago and quite large with a Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Apple Store.
Google Store Chelsea (2021) is located on the ground floor of Google’s New York office, while Mountain View (2023) is part of the campus/headquarters. Meanwhile, Williamsburg (2022) and Newbury Street (2024) are standalone locations.
Oakbrook continues the wooden motif, which is reflected in the facade with a white “Google Store” sign above and black framing the large windows.
There are three groupings of tablets with products, while more displays line the walls. At the center is the “Here to Help” desk for troubleshooting, with Pixel phone repairs also offered. Besides purchasing in the store, visitors can buy online and pick up.
Google Store Oakbrook opens Friday, November 1 at 10 a.m. CST.
- Monday-Thursday 10am-8pm CST
- Friday-Saturday 10am-9pm CST
- Sunday 11am-6pm CST
Looking ahead, Google in August said to expect a Santa Monica store in the “next few months.”
