British TV broadcaster Sky has had both its Google Play and Twitter accounts hacked by The Syrian Electronic Army. Screenshots in the Play store were replaced with SEA graphics, and a tweet was sent out claiming that the company’s Android apps had been hacked …
The tweet was originally reported by rival broadcaster ITV and picked up by Gizmodo and others, but Sky has since confirmed that no apps have been compromised, only the screenshots in the Play store, and that the tweet was a hoax.
The apps have been removed from the store, but we believe this is just to allow replacement of the screenshots rather than the apps themselves.
