TCL launching NXTPAPER 11 Plus tablet and new Android phones in 2025

TCL is kicking off 2025 with the launch of new Android phones a fairly exciting new tablet in the NXTPAPER 11 Plus.

No stranger to starting the new year with new smartphones, TCL took to CES to offer a first look at a batch of new smartphones releasing in the coming months. The two main releases include the TCL K32 5G, a smartphone that’s set to sell for under $100 with 5G connectivity when it launches in September.

Beyond that, the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G will launch in Canada and then the United States in May for $199, delivering a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz display with TCL’s NXTPAPER tech. The phone has a dedicated switch for activating a special NXTPAPER mode which the company says can deliver up to 26 days of standby battery life, or multiple days of active use. It does this by constraining users to only a few active apps at a time.

TCL will have a few more devices from its 60 series in the pipeline, but more information will be coming at MWC in March.

Also set to be announced in more detail at MWC is the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus, the brand’s latest Android tablet with NXTPAPER tech. The 11-inch tablet promises to split the difference between the 14-inch flagship that was announced at CES 2024 and the NXTPAPER Tab 10 we recently reviewed. The tablet has an 11.5-inch 2.2K 120Hz display with NXTPAPER 4.0, a new hardware and software revision to the company’s tech which employs a “nano-matrix lithography” process into etching the glass which improves the clarity of the display.

Another addition here is a dedicated NXTPAPER key which TCL uses to let users quickly switch modes on the tablet, as well as acting as a shortcut to the company’s AI features (which includes the usual suite of writing tools and more). The device will also support Circle to Search.

TCL hasn’t announced what’s powered the NXTPAPER 11 Plus just yet, but in our hands-on time with the tablet, it was noticeably faster than the NXTPAPER Tab 10. We’d guess there’s a mid-range MediaTek chip inside.

TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus will launch this year, with more details coming at MWC in March. The pricing, we’re told, is in the ballpark of $200-250.
