Google Maps speedometer disappears on Android Auto for some, traffic data still missing too

Android Auto users are reporting an issue where the Google Maps speedometer, available for mere months, is randomly vanishing.

Back in July, Google Maps on Android Auto finally started rolling out support for a live speedometer while navigating. This was alongside showing speed limits. It started more broadly rolling out later that month, but still hasn’t rolled out to everyone.

Now, in fact, we’re looking at the exact opposite happening. A number of users have reported on Reddit that the speedometer has suddenly vanished on Android Auto. It’s not a particularly widespread issue, it seems, but the rollout hasn’t expanded to all users in the first place. This is alongside traffic patterns, which are still missing for a number of users after breaking in late August.

We’ve also noticed continued reports of Android Auto missing its signal indicator, an ongoing bug for months at this point.
