HTC counting down to a ‘Special Announcement’ happening Wednesday

President of HTC America Jason Mackenzie told us yesterday that HTC has a big HTC One M9-related announcement scheduled for Wednesday, and today the HTCAmericas YouTube account has uploaded a countdown and stream for the event—coming to us live from Seattle in about 24 hours.

The announcement is specifically being aimed at “US customers,” which leads me to believe we could just be seeing announced dates for stateside availability of the company’s HTC One M9 (and maybe some other surprises). I’m not sure if that would exactly qualify as a “BIG” announcement as Mackenzie says it will be, but it would definitely be nice.

Another plausible announcement for tomorrow could be an “HTC One M9 for Windows” device, a follow-up to the Windows variant of the (M8) that HTC launched in August of last year. That would definitely be closer to “BIG”, but I think HTC already has a challenge on its hands with the regular HTC One M9. It hasn’t had exactly the best reception.

Here’s the countdown, and it will become a stream of the announcement tomorrow at 9 AM PST:
