More leaked images of HTC One E9 appear, show a glossy backside

Some images of the HTC One E9 appeared earlier this month thanks to a leak via Chinese regulators, showing a phone that sports a super-big camera on its rear and a 5.5-inch screen on its front. Hardware wise, Upleaks said earlier this month that the device will likely pack a 64-bit MediaTek processor, 32 GB of flash storage, 3 GB of RAM, a 20-megapixel main camera, and a couple different front shooter variants (either 13-megapixel or 4-megapixel “UltraPixel”). On the software side, it’s almost surely going to ship with Sense 7.0 (which launched alongside the HTC One M9).

We don’t know much more about the specifications of the device, but today we do have a new look at what the physical appearance of the phone will purportedly be like. As you can see in the image that Upleaks shared today, we pretty much have confirmation that the previously leaked images were accurate. One minor difference I can see is that these images show a slightly thinner bottom HTC bezel. Also, as you can tell, the phone appears to have a glossy backside—something you couldn’t determine based on the earlier leaks alone.

This device seems to be pretty powerful (if the leaked specs are to be believed) and it seems to be up to par with the One M9 in some ways. If the Taiwanese company does indeed decide to bring it to the American market, it’s going to be kind of interesting to see how it is set apart from its older brother. There’s no way to know whether or not this will actually happen, but considering the last-generation E8 made its way to Sprint in August of 2014, there’s definitely a possibility that the same could happen with the E9.
