AT&T will start selling the Trek 2 HD tablet for as low as $1 starting August 5th

AT&T Trek 2 HD

AT&T has today announced the new Trek 2 HD 8-inch Android tablet. This new LTE-connected tablet is priced at just $150 unlocked, or as little as $0.99 with a 2 year contract. Monthly pricing options are also available for just $7.50 a month.

The Trek 2 HD has an 8-inch, 720p display, Android Marshmallow (future upgrades unknown), and a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, presumably the 615. You’ll also get 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 5MP cameras on the front and back, and a 4,600 mAh battery which AT&T claims will run the tablet for about 10.5 hours during video playback.

For the price this tablet looks pretty solid, especially with front facing speakers flanking the display for better media playback.

“The Trek 2 HD is designed specifically with entertainment in mind, so you can enjoy your favorite video content when you’re on-the-go,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Device and Network Services Marketing, AT&T. “Whether you’re a regular traveler with extra time on your hands for a TV show, or you want to see the latest sports highlights from the comfort of your couch, the Trek 2 HD provides a high quality video experience for less than a dollar with a two-year agreement.”

AT&T will kick off sales for the Trek 2 HD starting August 5th on its website and in stores.
