Latest Instagram update allows you to save drafts of your posts

Instagram has been testing a feature that would all users to save drafts of their posts but with the rollout of version 9.4, this ability is now available for everybody. What this means is that you can prepare a photo for publishing but hold off on sharing it with the world until you are ready.

According to Instagram, to save a draft all you have to do is the following:

  1. Tap at the bottom of the screen, then take or upload a photo or video
  2. Add effects, filters, a caption or your location
  3. Go back to the filtering and editing step, then tap the back arrow in the top left
  4. Select Save Draft at the bottom of the screen

It should also be noted that if you don’t add filters, tag people, add a caption, or anything else, you won’t be given the option to save as a draft. When you are ready to publish your photo, though, it can be found by clicking the camera icon, selecting Library, and finding your post under a new Drafts section.

Instagram 9.4 is just starting to roll out so it might be a couple of days before you have the updated version. If you don’t want to wait for the update to reach your device, you can download the APK directly here and sideload it yourself.
