Chrome OS users take note, a brand new camera app is on its way offering a host of new features. The announcement came via Google’s “Happiness Evangelist” Francois Beaufort who suggested that while the current Chrome OS camera is good, the team can do better.

The Camera App bundled by default in Chrome OS is good. But good is not enough for the chromium team who has been working on a new version. As you can see below, the UI has been completely revamped to give more space to the content (aka you). But what’s even better in my opinion is what is in the pipeline (not implemented yet):
– Video recording
– Upload to Youtube and G+
– Pictures synced across all your Chrome Devices

The new app is rolling out over the next week or so for all Chrome OS users, but you can go grab the new Camera App on the Chrome Web Store athttps://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/camera/hfhhnacclhffhdffklopdkcgdhifgngh

The new update will rollout over the next week and includes a host of new features including video recording, uploading to YouTube and Google+ as well syncing pictures across all your Chrome devices.

It’s definitely a worthwhile update for Chrome OS users, even if you don’t make a whole lot of use out of your Chromebook camera. Fortunately, you don’t have to wait a week to grab the update as you can head over to the Chrome Web Store now and install:
