The Kindle Fire, the true Android gamers tablet? Survey says yes

Far be it from me to pass judgement on which Android tablet is the true “gamers” tablet, but a new survey via AllThingsD suggests the Kindle Fire is the people’s choice for gaming. According to a survey conducted this past June by IDC and App Annie, Amazon’s Kindle tablets received around 12% of the votes, far more than all other Android tablets combined.

There’s a caveat here of course, in first place was Apple with 35% of respondents naming iPhones or iPads as their mobile gaming system of choice. Safely in second place were Android smartphones with Google’s Play Store but when looked at on its own merits, the Amazon Kindle Fire sans Google Play received 12% of all votes.

Amazon’s Kindle Fire was more popular than Android tablets that use Google Play as a mobile/handheld gaming device in the US –

It’s an interesting thing to suggest that Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets which rely so heavily on Amazon’s app choices is a gamers paradise. There’s little argument that the Kindle Fire line is more for consumption than creation and this number only does more to solidify that notion.

If you’re an Android gamer these days, is the Kindle Fire at the top of your Christmas wish list?
