Almost a year ago, Lenovo announced that Ashton Kutcher was one of its newest product engineers. At first, the move felt like another bogus celebrity title with a major company (remember when BlackBerry named Alicia Keys its creative director?), but the Dude, Where’s My Car? star actually has some tech cred. Invested in a large number of successful startups, Kutcher also studied biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa.
So, what’s Lenovo doing with its high-profile engineer? Using his star power to promote its products of course. The company recently revealed its new Android-powered Yoga Tablet 2 Pro and to help push it, the firm put together a two minute marketing piece starring its in-house celebrity. The fictitious video displays a day in the life of Kutcher while using his Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. Filled with small references to the actor’s personal life the promo manages to show off some of the tablet’s capabilities.
Oh, yeah! Speaking of the tablet! It features a 13-inch QHD 2,560 x 1,440 display, a fourth-generation Intel Atom processor, 32GB of storage and up to 15 hours of battery — if you care about this sort of stuff.
