Google adds Treemaps to Acquisition section of Analytics

In a post on its Analytics Google+ page, Google has announced that it’s adding Treemaps support to the Acquisition section of AdWards Analytics. Treemaps, Google says, bring quick visual insights to your AdWords performance.

Google originally introduced Treemaps last October, but only today is it spreading the Acquisition section. You’ll be able to see a graphical representation of all your incoming traffic and compare it easily to the performance of different channels.

Google says you will see Treemaps in the Acquisition section of AdWords by heading into All Traffic > Treemaps. You can read more about the feature on Google+:

We introduced Treemaps last October (http://goo.gl/gfraL9) to bring you more insights into your AdWords performance, helping you visually identify trends and opportunities. If you missed +Matt Lawson‘s overview at the time, you can check it out here: http://goo.gl/YeompsTo bring the same quick, visual insights to all your channels, we’re now adding Treemaps to the Acquisition section. This allows you to see a graphical representation of all your incoming traffic and instantly compare the performance of different channels. You can plot any volume metric (like Sessions or Transactions) against any relative metric (like Pages/Session or Avg. Session Duration).

Look for Treemaps in the Acquisition section (Acquisition > All Traffic > Treemaps) the next time you open Google Analytics, or check out the Help Center article: http://goo.gl/eDjz4j

Happy analyzing!
