Both the OnePlus 2 and the Moto X Pure Edition were announced this week, showcasing the best that these two Android OEMs have to offer this year. Both of these devices were horribly-kept secrets in their own ways, so there weren’t many surprises — we already knew almost every detail about both phones before they were announced.
But now that they’re here, which one do you think you’ll be getting? Or if you’re not in line for an upgrade right now, which one would be your pick? Let’s take a look at a few of their differences…
As expected, the OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch display at 1080p, a fingerprint sensor, and both rear and front-facing cameras (the back has a 13-megapixel f/2.0 camera capable of shooting 4k video). The device is powered by an improved v2.1 variant of the Snapdragon 810 that reportedly solves overheating issues, and comes with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a 3,300Ah battery, as well as a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Sadly, there is no Quick Charge, no wireless charging, and no NFC. You can read more in our announcement post.
Moto X Pure Edition packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and the Snapdragon 808, 3 GB of RAM, 4G LTE, and storage tiers at 16, 32, and 64 GB. The phone has a beastly 21-megapixel main camera w/ a f/2.0 aperture and 4K video capture, a dual-tone flash, and a 5-megapixel front cam as well. As for the battery, the Pure Edition sits at 3,000 mAh which gives you up to 30 hours of use. Unlike the OnePlus 2, the Moto X Pure Edition comes with a traditional micro USB post. Sadly, the phone apparently has a little bit of heft to it. You can read more in our announcement post.
We should have a full-fledged comparison video coming soon, as well as full reviews of both devices. But before those hit, which way are you leaning?
