Update: There are now some even better prices available. You can grab the 6ft cable at $9 Prime shipped w/ code BUE2SL39, the 1ft cable at $8 Prime shipped w/ code OZIWJRGS, and the 10ft variant at just $10 Prime shipped w/ code OYDTW5TH.
If you’re on the lookout for some USB Type-C cables for your new Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X (or perhaps even a Chromebook Pixel or a 12-inch MacBook), this is a good opportunity to grab some at a great price. Amazon offers the iOrange-E USB Type-C 6.6 ft braided cable for just $10 Prime shipped w/ code NSUFTGQ3, and the same cable in its 10ft variant for $15 Prime shipped w/ code IBXAME3M. These are the lowest prices we’ve seen…
A couple of months ago we told you that Google engineer Benson Leung was going to various Amazon listings and reviewing USB Type-C cables for compliance and safety. While this didn’t go so well for some companies, these iOrange-E cables were specifically mentioned at the time as some of the best of the bunch. Here’s what Leung had to say:
Belkin’s USB Type-C to USB Type-A Charge and Data cable is excellent. This cable meets the USB Type C Specification, meaning it correctly identifies as “Default USB Power” as per the USB Type C Specification Section 4.11. Other cables (see my reviews) use incorrect CC termination to identify the cable incorrectly to the device it charges. This cable is safe to use with all of your USB Type C devices and legacy Type-A ports.
Beyond just being approved by a Google engineer, these cables support a wide variety of devices including the Apple MacBook 12-inch (2015), OnePlus Two, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel C, Chromebook Pixel, Lumia 950, and more. They have what the company claims is a durable “sturdy nylon fiber jacket,” and they come with a one year warranty to back that up.
