There are a number of things that need to be considered when trying to properly evaluate a device. Beyond mere specs and real life performances, for instance, customer satisfaction is indeed an important metric.
For years, Apple has boasted the iPhone as the number one choice for consumers, but as per the last American Customer Satisfaction Index, Samsung seems to have overthrown the Cupertino giant with its own Galaxy Note 5…
The news comes not long after we reported that the Korean titan had regained its top spot as biggest smartphone manufacturer in the United States, beating Apple this time as well.
The Galaxy Note 5 is indeed an awesome device, and despite having been arguably surpassed by its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge siblings, Americans seem to have resonated with the phablet incredibly well.
According to the ranking, the handset earned an astonishing 86/100 in the nationwide poll, taking on Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus, now placed second at 85/100.
It may seem that the one point only difference is negligible, but considering all the metrics and the high number of people taking part in the process, this is indeed no small feat.
Awaiting Samsung’s newer flagships’ introduction, the Asian OEM can also be satisfied about two of its older phones, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 4, both present in a joint third place at 84/100 points.
The iPhone 6s, for comparison, has ranked below in fourth position at 83/100 points, despite having arrived to the market a full year after the Note 4.
However, while the American people seems to have indeed fallen in love with Samsung’s Notes, the overall brand’s reliability has not improved much in the mind of consumers.
In ACSI’s list of most reliable manufacturers, in fact, Samsung has remained steady at 80/100 points; as of last year, that score granted it a first joint place with Cupertino’s firm, but Apple’s jump to 81/100 points made its leadership stronger — and lone.
