After confirming earlier this year that the device would be updated to the latest version of Android, HTC has just announced that Nougat is nearly ready for the HTC 10. The roll out should start Friday, November 26th…
On its official Twitter account, HTC confirmed that Android Nougat for the HTC 10 has just passed TA (technical acceptance), the final major step before pushing the update to owners.
For unlocked HTC 10 owners in the US, the rollout begins on the 26th, but carrier variants and other countries will lag behind just a bit. HTC says that carrier variants will get Nougat starting early next year. Odds are Verizon will push the update to its variant of the HTC 10 within the first two months of the year with unlocked units in other regions falling into that same timeframe, if not sooner.
HTC also promised Nougat for the HTC One M9 and HTC One A9, of course at a later date, but we don’t have as many details on those devices. HTC has confirmed that the One M9 will pick up Nougat early next year, but the company neglected to confirm when the A9 would be updated.
