Today, after having their customers request this feature for years, Netflix has now made it possible to download select content onto mobile devices for offline viewing. Whether you want to download a movie for a long flight or a tv show for your kids to enjoy on a road trip, the following will walk you through downloading and managing content from Netflix on your Android phone or tablet…
How to download Netflix content for offline viewing:
- Open the Netflix application
- Tap on the Menu button in the upper left-hand side of the screen
- Select the Available for Download option
- Find a show or movie that you are interested in downloading (note: offline playback won’t be available on all titles. Netflix says it plans to add more titles to offline playback in the future)
- Tap the Download button. If on WiFi, a dialog will appear on the button of your screen showing its process. If on cellular data, you will need to give Netflix permission to use your data
How to find your downloaded offline content:
- Open the Netflix application
- Tap on the Menu button in the upper left-hand side of the screen
- Select the My Downloads option
- If you have content downloaded, you will see a list of TV shows and movies
How to delete your downloaded offline content:
- Open the Netflix application
- Tap on the Menu button in the upper left-hand side of the screen
- Select the My Downloads option
- Tap on the pencil icon in the upper right-hand side of the display
- You can check each item on the list and select the trash can in the top right corner to remove the content from your device
