Are you going to try Android 15 before release? [Poll]

With the public beta dropping a little earlier than we had anticipated and little of note, is Android 15 worth a try before release?

Since Android 12, Google has iterated and honed rather than offered major user-facing operating system changes. That comes at a cost, as the magic of yearly updates from the Developer Preview phase to the Public Beta feels a little missing as the changes become less pronounced.

Credit to the team behind Android. The platform is so mature that huge, sweeping changes aren’t necessary anymore. That said, from a selfish perspective, it’s hard not to be disappointed that such builds lack any major alterations to explore. In years prior, every release felt like it could be the biggest release in years. That was certainly true for a while, but things have become a bit predictable since Android 14 rolled out.

When the Developer Preview arrived in mid-February, I was excited to try all of the little things that Android 15 had to offer. While we didn’t expect wholesale changes, most of the real tuning is under the hood. A stable system is commendable, but you might not even notice day-to-day. Material You might have peaked. We haven’t even seen any changes to the media player yet!

It has us wondering if you’ll even try Android 15 before the stable release at some point later in the year. Has the sheen dulled? Do you even care about tiny tweaks to Settings menu pages or whether you can change the default NFC payment system?

Ordinarily, there would be a ton of Pixel owners telling us how much they’re enjoying the experience of a new Android release – beta or stable. Let us know if you’re going to test drive or try Android 15 before release down in the poll below:
