Google Play Points adding ‘Diamond Valley’ mini game to win prizes, like Pixel

With 220 million members in 35 markets, Play Points is one of the world’s largest loyalty programs. Google today is updating Play Points with “exciting new perks and rewards” across three areas.

Diamond Valley is a “treasure hunt mini game” where you search for gems to “win prizes like Pixel devices, exclusive merchandise from your favorite games, points bonuses and more.”

It’s coming to the US on June 17 after launching in Japan and South Korea. Ahead of next month’s release, you can “pre-register for Diamond Valley today and get a headstart with bonus diamonds.” Doing so will net the first 50,000 Platinum and Diamond members an exclusive t-shirt.

The game (and the ability to pre-register) can be found in your account menu > Play Points > Perks tab.

TierPoints needed
Bronze0 – 149
Silver150 – 599
Gold600 – 2,999
Platinum3,000 – 9,999

Meanwhile, Play Points Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tier members will now get “early access to the hottest new mobile games.” Google Play is partnering with developers for this benefit, starting with Squad Busters by Supercell (in the US and select locations).

To build your squad, visit the Perks tab of Play Points home. Be on the lookout for more exclusive Squad Busters rewards coming soon.

Finally, Google is teasing partnerships “with some of the hottest events in gaming and entertainment to bring you VIP experiences.”

Be sure to check the Google Play Store soon for more information and get ready for a summer of Play.
