With VR experiences like Google’s Daydream, you get to immerse yourself into a virtual world by strapping a phone onto your face. As elegant as that may sound, there’s still a chance that you might want to share everything that you’re seeing with those around you — especially during the holiday season. Thankfully, if you have a Chromecast or Android TV in your home, you can easily mirror your display on the big screen…
How to mirror your display using Google Cast:
- Make sure your Chromecast or Android TV is set up and that your phone is on the same WiFi network
- Navigate to the Google Home application
- Tap on the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen
- Select the Cast screen/audio option
- Your phone should now find all available Chromecast-capable devices on your network. Pick one and your phone’s display should be mirrored onto the corresponding television
- Insert your phone into a Daydream headset and enjoy the virtual reality experience. Others around you should be able to see everything happening in your virtual world
- When you are done, simply pull down your notification shade and select the option to turn off the casting feature
