Switching from iPhone to Android is a process that’s getting continually better and, in a new ad, Samsung pokes fun at the drama often associated with switching through the lens of some reality TV stars.
Samsung’s new “Switchers” campaign puts some familiar faces in the setting of couples therapy, but it’s all about switching phones. Specifically, moving from iPhone to a Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The ad shows off the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s new shape and build, while poking fun at some classic hang-ups such as being “the green bubble guy,” AirDrop, photo sharing, data transfer, and more. The ad references Google’s updated Android transfer process which lets iPhone switchers scan a QR code on their new Android phone to transfer over the vast majority of data including messages, photos, and more, as well as covering key points about how RCS has iMessage features.
It’s a quick advert, but it hits the highlights, and features some notable names. The “host” is Dr. Orna Guralnik from the TV show Couples Therapy, while couples from The Traitors and Love Island also make appearances.
Samsung’s ad includes:
- Dr. Orna Guralnik (Couples Therapy)
- Ciara Miller and Dylan Efron (The Traitors)
- Carl Schmidt and Aniya Harvey (Love Island)
- Nick Foles and Clay Matthews (former NFL players)
Galaxy Z Fold 8 is available now at Samsung.com, with recent discounts cutting the price to as low as $1,599.
