DeviantArt is one of the largest creative hubs on the net, but until today, you were stuck with choosing between half a dozen third-party unofficial apps if you wanted to browse the site on your Android device. Now you can do so via DeviantArt’s brand new official app, and while it doesn’t come anywhere close to following the trendy Material Design scheme (because it didn’t want to), the app definitely gets the job done.
When you first open the app you’ll be presented with a “Today” page, showing you editor-curated “news, features, and conversations.” Swipe to the left from there and you’ll see “What’s Hot,” “Undiscovered,” “Daily Deviations,” and “Explore” tabs, which give you many ways to find a wide variety of images spanning the site’s 32 million artists.
Of course, the app also lets you post status updates to your profile, a feed of every journal, collection, or status update that might come across from your personal watchlist, notifications that let you manage your “mentions, replies and other messages,” and a submit feature that will let you post your own creations to your DeviantArt profile straight from the app.
You can download the official DeviantArt Android app for free right now on the Google Play Store. If you’re interested, you can also get the app for iOS.
