Huawei is set to unveil its new Ascend Mate 7 next week during IFA in Berlin, however the unreleased phone appears to have been spotted in the wild prior to its big showing. A device referred to as the Chinese phone maker’s next handset recently made a cameo appearance on the Asian microblogging site Weibo, revealing a phone that is somewhat reminiscent of the HTC One Max.

As for the Ascend Mate 7’s specs, the phone is rumored to have a 6-inch full HD display, an eight-core Kirin 920 processor, a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and a 13-megapixel camera. Huawei recently published a teaser video hyping the device for IFA, and while it only showed bits and pieces of the handset, the quick images shown in the promo look fairly similar to this alleged leak. Huawei’s IFA press event is scheduled for September 4th.
